Tonight’s Fox6 Tech Check: The Death of HD-DVD
Hello, Birmingham Fox news viewers - thanks for visiting our site! Tonight Sam and I talked with Steve Crocker about the death of HD-DVD - one of two competing High Definition DVD replacement standards. After many months of hard fought battling, Toshiba has thrown in the towel and now Blu-Ray will be the High Def format of the future.
Sam mentioned tonight that we thought HD-DVD players would be found for less than $75.00 dollars very soon, and just in case you are looking, how’s this for a deal: HD-DVD player plus seven movies (2 in the box + 5 by mail) for $89.99! CompUSA HD-DVD player (click here) FYI - we don’t make any money off of that link, and if you look at sites like Slickdeals.net, Dealnews.com and Techbargains.com, it’s possible that you will find even better deals! Keep in mind that if you don’t have a high def tv greater than 32 inches, you probably won’t see a big benefit by upgrading to Blu-Ray.
If you need more information on HD-DVD or Blu Ray, then Click Here for the HD-DVD Wikipedia article, or here for the Blu-Ray Wikipedia article. Our recommended Blu-Ray player for now is the Sony Playstation 3.
