How to stop Windows Messenger
pop-ups
To make those annoying Messenger
pop up windows you have 2 choices. One, download this free tool
from programming genius Steve Gibson (from Grc.com) To use it:
Simply click on the Shoot the Messenger link below, and select
OPEN (rather than "save as")
That's all there is to it! The harder way is at the bottom!

Shoot The Messenger
Stop the "Messenger Service" which is
different than Windows Messenger or MSN messenger
1. Click Start | Run | Services.msc
2. Locate the "Messenger Service" and stop it. Change
the startup type to "Disabled"
You will no longer receive pop-ups
