Shields Up Firewall Test
Check your firewall’s system security with Shields Up at GRC.com. (scroll down to to the Shields Up link - we can’t link directly to it)
This free service offered by Steve Gibson is an excellent way to check and make sure your firewall is doing what it’s supposed to be doing. Just click to scan All Service Ports, and see what happpens.
All green is good. If you fail the true stealth, you may want to tell your router not to respond to pings, but as long as all ports report stealth or closed, you’re pretty good.
If any ports report OPEN, then you need to investigate further, because this means your computer is inviting people in with an open door - something that usually happens when you have a malware infection.

I just have to say this was potentially one of the most intelligent posts I have read on the subject so far. I don’t have any idea where you gather up all your info but I am impressed! I am gunna send some individuals to this site to check this out. Amazing, just plain fantastic. I have anticirus firewall for my desktop pc. Do I need one for linux as well?
